My Doodles

Throughout the years of writing the book, and not writing it, I was often moved to (or distracted enough to) imagine various scenes from it, and, not being a 'proper' artist, just coming up with doodles, many of them impromptu, on whatever I had to hand. Here are some of them - there are probably some more, somewhere.
'A fearsome angel'
'A heroic bugle boy'
'A cogwheel, an arrowhead, a cross'
'He would never quite escape the angel.'
'A fearsome angel, crouched over him.'
'Sister Adelheid, lost saint'
'Our narrator, Bronia Galitzki'
'Michael Sheltz, that unfortunate kid'
The Fortune Teller's Factotum, an American tale that spans a turbulent century. Get it here
